Construction and Deconstruction (k,1,2,3)

Did you ever want to take electronic stuff apart and put it back together again? We’ll be using tools to take machines apart and see what is inside. We will be deconstructing things such as CD players, telephones, computers, and toasters, and then using their parts to make new inventions and art of our own. We will also be doing some reading and drawing every day.
Color (k,1,2)

Do you love to color? Do you want to learn more about color? In this hands on class you will learn about the primary colors: red, yellow, and blue, and experiment with them to make hundreds of other colors. Make a rainbow wand, write secret notes that can only be decoded with special glasses and create many other colorful projects. We will spend half our time doing science experiments with color and the other half of our time just having fun coloring. If you love art and you love science, or you just love to color, like I do, this class is for you.
Fun Outdoor Games (k,1,2)

Come outside and play with us! Play old games that you know and love. Learn some new fun games, too! We will head outside to play group games on the playground. We will play tag, hot potato, games with parachutes, and more.
Physical Fitness Class (1,2,3)

Come and have fun doing obstacle courses, relays , and exercises to get you fit for the summer! We will also play with Frisbees and hula-hoops. Wear your sneakers and comfortable clothes to exercise in.
Building Games (k,1,2,3)

Girls and boys come build with Becka. We will build structures from different materials. Come explore and find out what your imagination can create. From skyscrapers to doll houses, we will build and create together!
Jazzy Journaling (2,3)

Come join us while we create fun journals with collage, watercolor, beading and more. We will be experimenting with collage different art types and then transfer them into our personal, creative journals. We will also learn how to create animals, scenes and dolls using felting. We'll learn new techniques and get to know new people. Come have some fun and show us what you can do!

Movement Madness (1,2,3)

Are you itching to move? Well, here's your chance! In this class we will be doing a whole variety of movements and games. We will do yoga, juggling, and tightrope walking as well as games like kickball, tag, capture the flag and so much more. Come join me in running, playing and just enjoying the Spring weather outdoors.
Kids n’ Keys (k,1)

Come and learn new ways to play the keyboards and learn about music and music making. Students will play songs by ear, by number and by note. Student will listen and respond to musical selections. Come and learn some new techniques. For beginning students.
Dancing with the Horizons Stars! (6,7,8)

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to dance like the dancers in the show "Dancing with the Stars"? We will be exploring Waltz, Swing, and Salsa from a cultural and historical perspective as well as learning to dance these ballroom favorites! This class will cover footwork, musicality, style/technique, and basic partnering skills (similar to cotillion, but much more fun!). We will also be learning a group piece to perform at the end.
Bead making (6,7,8)

Come and learn how to make beads out of strips of magazine pages (like what women in Africa make and sell to raise money for their villages), out of Victorian Salt dough, from sculpey, by covering wood beads with paper and other media, and by cutting up potato into shapes and painting them after they've dried. You will get to take home your treasures.
Bolder Boulder Training (6, 7, 8)

Where can you go to play outdoor games, search the streets for clues in a massive game of hide-and-seek, get in great shape for spring and summer activities, AND train to help Horizons regain its title as Fastest School in the Bolder Boulder? Join us for Bolder Boulder Training. We’ll do all the activities mentioned above as well as, of course running, jogging, and speed walking. Bring a great attitude, some running/jogging/walking shoes, and a water bottle and come have some fun while we shake off the winter rust!

Let’s move beyond the playground and make our way to the East Boulder Recreation Center for volleyball, handball, Frisbee, croquet, kickball, and ---- Discs and maybe, if it is warm, water balloon toss!
Knitting (6,7,8)

Are you a knitter who is ready for more of a challenge? Bring your own project or use a pattern to make a purse, a small stuffed animal or hat in this intermediate knitting class. Some knitting experience is required.
Collage and Painting (6,7,8)

Come enjoy experimenting with collage materials. We will paint and create some interesting, textural art. Various projects and ideas will be introduced. Come and have fun while creating some new artwork.
Marimbas (6,7,8)
With Corey
Come and learn Zimbabwean style marimba ( wooden xylophone). It’s music that will make you want to dance. We will learn African rhythms and sounds. It is fun and easy. Any level welcome.
Flag Football (6,7,8)

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL! It's that time of the year again. Get ready for summer fun. All ability levels are welcome and encouraged. We'll learn some very important skills as well as play. Team players only...and no arguing with the ref. See you there.
